She then lost the title to Nunes during their 2022 second match. Pena was the one player over the past eight years to beat Nunes.

A noteworthy welterweight fight between karate expert Stephen Thompson and capoeira combatant Michel Pereira is also scheduled to be held.

UFC has last been to Vancouver on September. 14 on the 14th of September, 2019 for the Fight Night card headlined by Justin Gaethje vs. Donald Cerrone. 

It was also coincidental that Michel Pereira was also on the card, and lost an unsurprising victory in favour of the local boxer Tristan Connelly after severely missing weight. 

Nunes is back in Canada in the second time since successfully protecting his fight against Valentina Shevchenko in split decision in the year 2017.
