Sainsbury's is now offering reduced prices on over 300 items for members on its Nectar loyalty card program in a move to compete with the Tesco Clubcard scheme.

It is a Nectar Prices scheme offers deals for customers of the loyalty program at the supermarket use their cards or apps at large retailers or link to their accounts online.

Shoppers who use Self-Scanning Smartshop system can also avail personalized discounts on certain products.

Participants in the loyalty program that has been in operation since more than 20 years will be able to keep collecting points for discounts from partners Argos, Caffe Nero or British Airways.

Products will be marked with the Nectar Price label visible on the edge of the shelves in stores or beside each product online in the scheme. It was first published through the Sun.
